Rust stain removal in Volusia & Flagler counties
Orange rust and irrigation stains removed from walls, driveways, curbs and patios without damaging the surface.
The short answer
Costa's Pressure Cleaning removes orange rust stains from stucco, concrete, curbs and patios in Ormond Beach and across Volusia and Flagler counties. Most of these stains come from iron in well water used for sprinklers. Rust needs a rust-removing treatment; pressure washing or bleach alone won't take it off. Estimates are free.

BeforeAfterWhy Florida homes get orange stains
According to UF/IFAS Florida-Friendly Landscaping, most Florida well water is high in iron, and iron-rich irrigation water is what causes the orange streaks on the sides of buildings. When sprinklers spray it onto walls, driveways and fences, the iron oxidizes and leaves rust behind. Rusty metal and some fertilizers cause similar stains.
Rust is a mineral stain, not dirt or mildew, so a pressure washer or bleach won't remove it. We use a rust remover made for the surface, let it dissolve the staining, then rinse it clean.
Stains come back if the sprinklers keep hitting the same spots. Adjusting sprinkler heads, or treating the well water, keeps them away for good.

Rust stain removal questions
Why doesn't pressure washing remove rust stains?
Rust is iron oxide bonded to the surface, not dirt sitting on top. It needs a treatment that dissolves the rust; water pressure alone just fades it a little, and too much pressure can damage the surface.
Will the rust stains come back?
If the sprinklers keep spraying iron-rich well water on the same spots, yes. Pointing sprinkler heads away from walls and concrete, or adding iron treatment to the well, keeps them away.
Can you remove fertilizer stains?
Orange fertilizer stains on concrete usually respond to the same kind of treatment as rust. Send us a photo and we'll tell you what to expect.
Do you remove rust stains for HOAs and property managers?
Yes. We clean rust stains off community walls, curbs, sidewalks and buildings, and you can see more on our commercial services page.
How much does rust stain removal cost?
It depends on how many areas are stained and the surfaces involved. Estimates are free: call (386) 679-6569 or text us photos.
